Pollack Vineyard is a small family owned winery. They have 31 acres of French vinifera used to make estate grown wine that has the finesse and balance of the traditional French varietals. Pollack is owned by a husband and wife team who share a passion for wine. They sought the experience of other vintners and growers to seek an ideal site and then applied the best agricultural and wine making practices.

Full disclosure, this is our favorite vineyard. It helps that it’s less than a 20 minute drive to get there from our home! We love spending time here. We are even wine club members which comes with a few perks, including 4 bottles of Pollack wine 3 times a year. In addition, all tastings are free, and there’s a 10% discount on everything else.
My two favorites here are the Viognier and the Cabernet Franc, which coincidentally are two grapes that Virginia is known for. However, you really can’t go wrong at Pollack. The 2017 Chardonnay has a refreshing crisp taste because they use stainless steel instead of oak barrels. The 2015 Meritage can hold its own, proved by the awards they’ve won for it. The 2017 Pinot Gris, a new release, was a fast favorite of mine. They have consistently created outstanding wines, and never disappoint.
They have a limited but delicious selection of cheese, cured meats, jams and crackers we well as non-alcoholic drinks for the kids (or non-drinking party poopers.) However, they also allow you to bring your own food as well, as long as you don’t bring in outside alcohol, which isn’t allowed by law in Virginia.
Pollack has a wine club, the Smugglers Society. Its fairly affordable and provides 4 bottles 3 times a year. For details, click here.
